JUMILLA WINE AT FENAVIN 2009
Our company, Bodegas Salzillo, has the privilege to announce its participation at FENAVIN, one more year. It is, actually, the most important wine congress in Spain, but its international dimension is remarkable, as well. The strong presence of import agents makes compulsory, to every cellar with international aspirations, the participation on Fenavin. With our contribution, and other local producers to, we guarantee Jumilla Denomination of Origin presence. Not for nothing, Jumilla’s wines are showing a promising growth, both domestically and internationally. For all people interested we will be at PABILLION NOE Street A-4; B-3. Specifically, at Murcia’s Region zone. We invite you to participate and visit us so you can taste our wines.

During the exhibition of DO Jumilla wines at the XV Quality Forum, the Murcia Regional Executive for Agriculture and Water, Antonio Cerdá, explained that 55 percent of total production is sold to foreign markets, mainly to Switzerland, Germany and the US.
In a press release, Cerdá stated that, “there is an optimistic forward-looking approach to Murcia wines which these days are made using modern and innovative parameters under strict planning” and reminded those present that Jumilla wines now form part of the, “wine market elite”. In fact, in the delegate’s own words, “Jumilla is one of the Spanish wine regions with most labels on Robert Parker’s prestigious list, over 40 brand names”.
In total, DO Jumilla, founded officially in 1966, covers 7 municipalities, with almost 3,000 registered viticulturists, 42 bodegas and 27,900 hectares of vineyard. It produces more than 20 million litres per year, highlighting it as, “an important representative of the region’s viticulture”, Cerdá stated.

III SHOW “WINES FROM SPAIN” IN MEXICO
After passing selection process, carried out among all cellars interested on the event, Bodegas Salzillo has been chosen to participate on this fair. It will take place on February 17th and 19th in Mexico City and Monterrey, respectively. This event provides a unique opportunity to introduce our wines in Mexico, a country that has experienced a steady increase in wine consumption, for years. Merit is even higher when we consider that only two cellars will represent Jumilla Denomination of Origin.
Winesfronspain.com acknowledges Jumilla's value
By using phrases like this one: “Its wines are earning growing international acclaim (…) were rated ‘excellent’ by recognized wine critic Robert Parker” winesfromspain acknowledges Jumilla’s wines great value.

ROBERT PARKER writes about the great future of Jumilla
Spain will be the star
Look for Spain to continue to soar. Today it is emerging as a leader in wine quality and creativity, combining the finest characteristics of tradition with a modern and progressive winemaking philosophy. Spain, just coming out of a long period of cooperative winemaking that valued quantity over quality, has begun to recognize that it possesses many old-vine vineyards with almost unlimited potential. Spanish wineries recognize that they are trapped neither by history nor by the need to maintain the status quo that currently frustrates and inhibits so many French producers. By 2015, those areas that have traditionally produced Spain's finest wines (Ribera del Duero and Rioja) will have assumed second place behind such up-and-coming regions as Toro, Jumilla and Priorat.
